Robotics Training on the Go!

January 26, 2013 by jocillecoronica

Thirty privileged students from three high schools namely, Fatima HS, Labangal, and Gen. Santos National School of Arts and Trade, benefited the day one of the 2-day robotics training offered by the local government unit of General Santos City under the SHEEP-Computer Literacy Program at AR 9, Mabuhay IT Park, General Santos City last January 25, 2013.

10 students were sent by each school to undergo the said training. Robotics: Introduction to Micro-controller utilizes the programmable Arduino boards and Arduino Sketch 1.0.1 Programming IDE. Eng. Franz Duran from Rapid Signal Electronics developed the learning modules. The kids were thought on how to create programs that would allow the parts of the board to function accordingly. RR Lim from SHEEP-CLP facilitated the mentioned training with great enthusiasm.

The robotics training was approved last 2011 by Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio. It is a level-up training under the enhanced Computer Literacy Program of the local government. The training aims to provide advance and supplementary knowledge to young generals and thus it promotes inventiveness and creativity.
