Now it’s Ligaya’s Turn to Receive 10 Computers from LGU

LIGAYA, GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Ligaya High School celebrated with Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio as they received their ten brand new personal computers last February 12, 2013 through the S.H.E.E.P. -Computer Literacy Program which aimed to provide computer education to public elementary and high school students to be at par with those in the private ones in terms of information technology education. The computers were also equipped with industry standard software, thus it can provide hands-on experiences to the students.

The newly installed school head, Ms Anita L. Gonzales, gave her welcome address followed by an inspirational talk by OIC Schools Division Superintendent Diosdado Ablanido, C.P.A. He stated that reading, writing, and arithmetic equipped with computer knowledge are the essential tools needed for a person to be called a fully literate individual. City Councilor Meg Santos, Chairman of the Committee on Education, also delivered her encouraging message.

The lovely and energetic city mayor, Hon. Darlene Antonino-Custodio, advised the young generals to take care and make good use of the tools given to them. Barangay Kagawad Hon. Yolando Balabis thanked the City Mayor for her presence during the ribbon cutting, blessing and dedication ceremony. PTA President Marilyn Tapel gave her closing remarks with heartfelt thanks. The brand new computers were bundled with 3,000 plus electronic books which can benefit around 240 students from the said school.
